Great read. I'm always looking for running content to keep me waking up early and getting out the door. Looking forward to following the next year of running. I'm a track guy who converted to roads and have dabled in very short trail races. But reaching the end of my lowering my PR days....trail and relay races are calling.

Came to follow via John McCormack (who I grew up with and arguing with) to the Weekly Standard and then you and all the Bulwark crew.

Enjoy your graphics and photography as i am also a medium format film photography nerd on top of running.

I love how you discovered the 50k. Races come to us in mysterious ways. I ended up learning about and running (well, DNFing) a 100 miler last hear because it was the only race of its type that fell on my birthday.

keep running you road runners. Find that distance/time that works for you and keep your routine going as long as possible. I got the running bug in the early 80s and haven't stopped. You can't bet being on the road puttng those miles on and clearing your mind of the crap we must deal with from our leaders. Republican or Democrat both do not represent my vission of America. Running keep me sane in these insane times.

preace fellow runners.

Great writing. Can you tell us more about the medaling /. awards and the appeal to different running segments? Doesn't everyone want a medal on a lanyard? (I am wearing mine now...)

One of the best long distance races that also has a relay is the Keys100. www.keys100.com Highly recommend, even through the suck.

Fair play on running the 50k. Planning on doing the Dublin marathon in Ireland this year and hopefully a 50k run too.
